Our Story
South Stars began with a simple idea:
‘Entertainment should bring joy to everyone.’
Our founders saw that many venues struggled to find reliable, high-quality entertainment that truly engaged their guests. They decided to create a company that would change this.
Starting small, we focused on understanding exactly what venues needed. We listened to venue owners, watched how guests responded to different types of entertainment, and learned what worked best. Over the years, we’ve grown from a small team with big dreams into a trusted partner for venues across the country.
What makes us different is our genuine love for what we do. We don’t just provide entertainment – we create experiences that people remember long after they’ve gone home. Every show we put on, every activity we run, and every entertainer we train is done with one goal in mind: making sure everyone has the best time possible.
Meet the Team
Our leadership team brings together decades of experience in the entertainment industry. Each member has worked in different areas of entertainment, from live performance to venue management, giving us a deep understanding of what works and what doesn’t.
Cat Chadwick
Head of HR & Development
As the Head of HR and Development at South Stars, I lead the organisation’s human resources function with a commitment to building a fair, supportive, and high-performing workplace. I oversee core HR areas, including employee relations, performance management, and policy development – ensuring consistent, people-centred practices across the company. Alongside this, I manage the Learning and Development team and support functions to promote continuous growth, capability building, and collaboration. Through this combined focus, I help ensure our people feel valued and supported during their time with us.
Kirsty Smith
Regional Manager
As a Regional Entertainment Manager, I look after the brilliant entertainment teams from North Kent all the way up to Hull, making sure every show, activity, and on-park moment runs smoothly and feels unforgettable. I deliver hands-on training, keep teams motivated, and jump in with support whenever it’s needed — whether that’s creative ideas, problem-solving, or crisis-management with a smile. I’m also focused on driving revenue and ensuring our entertainment offering doesn’t just delight guests, but actively contributes to the success of each park. Essentially, I help talented people shine, keep the fun flowing, and make sure the business benefits along the way.
Matt Harris
Regional Manager
As the Regional Entertainment Manager for our parks across the South West, South Kent, and Scotland, I spend my days supporting our fantastic teams, helping them grow, and ensuring every guest enjoys an unforgettable experience. You’ll often find me out on the parks, visiting teams, delivering training, developing entertainment programmes, and driving revenue through creative ideas and confident leadership. I love seeing talent flourish and working with our teams to keep raising the bar on fun, quality, and guest satisfaction.
Rachel Vowles
Technician
As a Technician at South Stars, I provide essential technical support to our holiday parks, offering guidance and troubleshooting through phone and remote assistance, as well as travelling on-site to repair and replace faulty equipment. My role focuses on ensuring our parks operate smoothly, equipment functions reliably, and teams feel supported with prompt, practical solutions that keep our guests’ experiences seamless and enjoyable.
Dan Dean
Leaning & Development Manager
As the Learning and Development Manager, I oversee the company’s E-Learning platform to ensure all staff are onboarded effectively and complete the training required for their roles. I coordinate training days across the business and manage development activities for all departments. I also support employee growth by identifying learning needs, organising training opportunities, and promoting continuous professional development to build a skilled and confident workforce aligned with organisational goals.
Recruitment & Training
Once we’ve found the right people, we focus on giving them excellent training. Our training programme helps entertainers and activity staff develop the skills they need to do their jobs brilliantly. We cover everything from performance techniques to customer service skills. We make sure our employees are ready to deliver amazing experiences for guests.
Exceptional Experiences
Our management team has over ten years of experience in the entertainment industry. We know how to manage people and maintain high standards. Our team regularly visits venues to check that everything is going well and that guests are having fantastic experiences.
